Assemblies

Carrying on the tradition that was started a year ago, assemblies continued to entertain and challenge staff and pupils alike each Friday morning under the tutelage of Mrs. Hodgins. Performances this year were varied from solos to groups, and the soloists all had various different musical styles to offer. Performances included a vocal solo from Lauren Callender (Year 12) ‘Jesus Hope of the Nation’. The Year 13 Performance Studies class then entertained everyone with ‘Clocks’ by Coldplay. Rachelle Montgomery (Year 12) and Lucy Armstrong (Year 11) then sang a duet entitled ‘Never say Never’ by The Fray.

Lauren Callender began the New Year with a duet with Mrs. Hodgins ‘Who am I?’ by Casting Crowns. The Senior Choir then entertained everyone with an upbeat rendition of the Beatles classic ‘I Wanna Hold Your Hand’. The Year 14 class performed a memorable song by Leona Lewis ‘Footprints in the Sand’ ending the Easter term with a final performance by Rebecca Nannery of the Queen classic ‘Who Wants to Live Forever?’. The last assembly before the exam season was performed by Michael Sutthakorn on guitar, Aaron Milligan on drums (both Year 10) and Mrs. Hodgins on the piano. There will of course be a final assembly but that will be kept a well guarded secret until the end of June!
