Action Cancer

 

This year the College Concert Band was given the opportunity to perform at St Anne’s Cathedral for the Sound of Music fundraiser for Action Cancer.

To raise money we came up with a number of ideas including the “brown money” collection competition between form groups. Everyone gave really generously and in the end we were able to raise £1000 for the charity.

After much practise and hard work the 2nd of December finally arrived and we set off for the Cathedral excited about puttine on a good show. We opened the event playing the upbeat well known festive tunes; Sleigh Ride, Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree and Jingle Bell Rock. These were performed very well by the band and got the audience excited for a night showcasing some of Northern Ireland’s best musicians.
